Scotbeef, who are the current tenant on this site owned by ANM Group, wish to relocate their business to an alternative site as the current site is no longer appropriate for modern practices associated with its use as an abattoir or its location within a built-up residential area in the town. This presented ANM with an opportunity to investigate the redevelopment of the site with an alternative use in preparation for selling on to a developer once the site is vacated by Scotbeef Ltd.
The site now has Planning Permission in Principle for residential use with an indicative layout of 77 units in a mix of flats, semi-detached and terraced housing. The site, surrounded predominantly by residential development, is ideally located within close proximity of existing retail development on North Street and Burghmuir Drive, as well as Strathburn School and the Garicoh Sports Centre to the south and the public open space at Market Green to the east.
