LA+P gained planning permission for the extension of a lodge house in Burnhervie to create a new bedroom and increase the living accommodation. The lodge house wasn’t listed in its own right but lies within the curtilage of a the B Listed Manar House and is therefore curtilage listed.
West Lodge has been extended over the years, but the T-shaped form of the original lodge is still apparent. The extension was set back from the South façade to ensure it took a sub-servient approach while allowing the original form of the lodge to remain apparent.
Care was taken to ensure the traditional detailing and material palette was carried through to the new extension to create a sympathetic addition that fits seamless with the original Lodge.
