Final Phase Handover at Smithfield
The final phase of the new Smithfield Gardens council housing development has been handed over by the main contractors CHAP Group on Friday 6th July 2018.
The scheme features 99 properties, designed by us to create inspirational 21st Century socially rented family housing, which comprise 42 three and four-bedroom semi-detached properties and 57 one and two-bedroom apartments.
Tenants of the first 12 properties, all three-bedroom semi-detached houses, settled in after receiving their keys last summer with the second phase being completed earlier this year. The remaining residents are also enjoying their new homes.
The homes are part of the wider commitment to addressing the housing issues faced in Aberdeen. The Council is currently developing plans for the delivery of a further 2,000 new council homes after setting its 2018/19 budget priorities earlier in the year.
